Here’s a photo of the check presentation. On the left is Ed Saffell, co-chair of the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), and a Deputy Chief with the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District. Ted and Lew will be making a presentation of the services 1-800-BOARDUP is able to provide the region’s citizens at the LEPC February 8th meeting.
Recently, 1-800-BOARDUP of Kansas City made a $1,000 donation to the Mid America Regional Council (MARC). MARC is comprised of emergency providers, city and county governmental groups, and private sector companies that promote regional cooperation through leadership, planning, and action. Ted Sherwood, their 1-800-BOARDUP Manager, and Lew Hendricks (pictured on the right), Director of Emergency Services, learned that the regional hazmat and rescue teams were running out of funds. Their Local Service Partner, Repairs Unlimited, made a donation.
