1-800-BOARDUP donations will be directed to NFFF programs that honor fallen firefighter heroes, assist their survivors and help prevent future line-of-duty deaths and injuries.
Each October the NFFF hosts the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend in Emmitsburg, Maryland to honor firefighters who died in the line of duty in the previous year. Beyond that weekend, the Foundation coordinates survivor conferences with workshops for parents, spouses, adult children and coworkers, and sponsors camps for younger children. The NFFF also provides academic scholarships for spouses, partners, children and step-children.
In addition, the Foundation works with all branches of the fire service to reduce line-of-duty deaths and injuries through the Everyone Goes Home® program, which provides free resources, materials and training for improving firefighter health and safety.
