AR-160429968City firefighters knocked down a Grand Street garage fire early Wednesday afternoon that heavily damaged the structure that sits a foot from a Pentecostal church. One wall of the building, which faces the CHC’s family resource center building at 635 Main St., came down as crews worked to put the fire out. There was some concern that other parts of the building might collapse or have to be taken down. By 5:30 p.m., teams from 1-800-BOARDUP of Middletown, CT were on the scene removing burnt items and boarding up the garage bay and windows.
